                               RESOLUTION NO. 18764
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION TO PROCLAIM SEPTEMBER 11, 1990
                   as "9-1-1 DAY IN CHATTANOOGA," AND TO
                   EXPRESS APPRECIATION TO THOSE RESPONSIBLE
                   FOR PROVIDING EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS AND
                   RESPONSE SERVICES.
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 WHEREAS, all Chattanooga citizens are privileged to
       receive "enhanced 9-1-1," or E-911 emergency telephone service,
       which enables any persons requiring emergency assistance to
       instantly contact proper agencies, thereby saving lives,
       protecting property and leading to the swifter apprehension of
       law-breakers; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, those persons providing our community the
       advanced technological equipment, and the dedicated men and women 

       delivering emergency services to our citizens deserve special
       commendation and expressions of appreciation by those in public
       office;
       	    	 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
       THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That we do hereby proclaim
       September 11, 1990 as "9-1-1 Day in Chattanooga," and officially
       express our appreciation to the men and women who serve as E-911
       telecommunicators, and who deliver emergency services to our
       citizens; and

       	    	 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a true and accurate copy
       hereof be provided to the Chairman of the "9-1-1" Emergency
       Communications District, in expression of the sentiments herein
       stated.
